Argues for Trump to Cancel Potentially Fatal Trip Behind “Enemy Lines”

WASHINGTON, May 11, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ -- In a policy paper released today as U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff conducts yet-another round of negotiations with Iranian representatives putatively aimed at eliminating their nuclear weapons program, the Victory Coalition urged President Trump to pursue a different – and far more realistic – path toward that goal.

Instead of the present approach, which legitimizes the regime in Tehran and buys it time, the Coalition calls for American support for Israeli military action designed to degrade the Iranian Revolution Guard Corps that secures the mullahocracy – creating the opportunity for the people of Iran to liberate themselves and end the threat posed by Iran’s government that brutally represses them and threatens the rest of us.

Highlights of the Victory Coalition’s analysis and recommendations include the following:

• The key to President Trump’s goal of reducing America’s costly presence in the Middle East without jeopardizing our vital interests there is to have a strong, powerful and respected Israel committed to protecting those interests, which closely align with hers.
• The tighter the bond between the United States and Israel – including between their leaders, President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benajamin Netanyahu – the more certain it is that those two goals can be achieved.
• Doing so will, in turn, require that Israel take the one action with a real prospect of ending the peril posed by an Iranian nuclear weapons program – namely, creating conditions that will allow the Iranian people to keep such capabilities out of the hands of apocalyptic Sharia-supremacists who have promised for decades to bring “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.”
• The Israelis now appear to recognize that such a step must be taken in the current window of opportunity made possible by their previous, highly effective strikes.
• They could use U.S. support, but do not require our forces, to engage next in the needed, decisive attacks on the IRGC’s security apparatus.
• In the meantime, President Trump should forego his planned visit later this week to Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia given the Iranian regime’s determined efforts to kill him and the myriad Muslim Brothers and other jihadists in those countries anxious to do so, too.
