DALLAS, Jan. 23, 2024 /Standard Newswire/ -- Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) is thrilled to announce that its nationwide Story of Scripture event is coming to the greater Oklahoma City area February 2nd and 3rd, 2024.

The Story of Scripture is a unique event in which Dr. Mark Yarbrough, president of the seminary, and other leading speakers present a two-day conference that immerses attendees in the major themes that weave all of Scripture together from Genesis through Revelation. But more importantly, the experience helps attendees understand their part in God’s great plan of redemption.

“The Scripture is pretty clear that God makes promises and keeps them,” says Dr. Yarbrough. “He reveals those promises in the pages of his Word, and offers his assurance to every believer that we can trust him unconditionally with the messiness of life.

The Story of Scripture event will be conducted at Edmond Faith Bible Church, 600 N Coltrane, in Edmond, Oklahoma, beginning at 8:00 AM Friday, February 2 and concluding on Saturday afternoon, February 3 around 4:00 PM.

Those interested in attending can register for only $79 at www.TheStoryofScripture.org, but space is limited and registration is on a first come first served basis.

Lunches, snacks and drinks are included with every registration as well as the conference workbook and many other resources to help attendees go deeper into their journey through God’s grand narrative.

“It is the greatest story ever told,” said Yarbrough, “and God offers a part in his plan to anyone who will receive it. We truly believe that everyone who attends this event will emerge with a new understanding of God's love for his people. Some will be encouraged in their faith and others will see, for the first time, that God has a unique and divine place for them in his grand narrative.”

Launched in 2016, the Story of Scripture events have been conducted before thousands of people including The Billy Graham Center at The Cove in Asheville, North Carolina, and dozens of churches nationwide. In addition to the two-day event, it is going global with the first SOS international conference coming to Monrovia, Liberia.

Dr. Mark Yarbrough began his tenure as the 6th president of Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) on July 1, 2020, succeeding Dr. Charles Swindoll. He has served in a variety of positions at DTS including Research Assistant to the President, Executive Director of Information Technology, Associate Dean for External Education, Vice President for Communications, Academic Dean, and Vice President of Academic Affairs.

His love for the classroom draws him to the Bible Exposition department where he serves as Professor. Along with his responsibilities of leading DTS, he travels extensively leading tours and speaking at conference centers. Mark has recently authored Jonah: Beyond the Tale of a Whale and Tidings of Comfort and Joy. He has been married for over thirty years to Jennifer, his high school sweetheart. They have four adult children, one son-in-law, and reside in Sunnyvale, Texas.
