Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition based in Washington, D.C., comments, "We are issuing a national call to the pro-life community, and all people of good will, to come to the Democratic National Convention in Denver next summer. We are especially challenging members of the emerging generation to be involved in this non-violent revolution of social justice and human rights. We will be boldly calling for 30 years of violence to come to an end on the streets of Denver through peaceful demonstrations, prayer vigils, rallies and concerts.
"We are also very concerned about harsh and unconstitutional restrictions that may placed on demonstrations and free speech activities during the Convention. Already the City of Denver has changed their permit application process for taking applications during the time the DNC is being held. Our message to Denver and the Democratic Party is do not crush free speech rights, honor and protect the First Amendment and of course protect America's children."
