Pence Campaign Announces Endorsement by Indiana NFIB

Contact: Christy Denault, Mike Pence for Indiana, 317-775-1170, cdenault@mikepence.com

CARMEL Ind., Aug. 22, 2012 /Standard Newswire/ -- Today, the Mike Pence for Indiana campaign announced an endorsement from the Indiana National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).

The nonprofit, nonpartisan NFIB focuses on the impact of current and proposed legislation on small businesses whose owners make up the bulk of its nearly 15,000 members in Indiana alone.

"Mike Pence was a reliable advocate for small business in Congress, and he was one of the most consistent and highly principled voices for lower taxes, smaller government and fewer regulations," said NFIB Indiana State Director Barbara Quandt.  "As a candidate for Governor, he has impressed our members with his vision for Indiana as the best and most competitive state in the country for small businesses."

Yesterday, Pence urged Governor Daniels not to implement the health care act in Indiana. Pence, last week, announced his latest plans to make Indiana the state that works by reducing the impact of federal burdens and mandates on Indiana and by accelerating Indiana innovation. Among his other policy proposals, Pence has also called for lowering the personal income tax, freezing regulations on Hoosier businesses and improving career, technical and vocational education in Indiana high schools.

"We are honored to have earned the endorsement of the Indiana National Federation of Independent Business, a leading advocate for small business," said Kyle Robertson, campaign manager. "Mike's vision for Indiana is focused on making Indiana the best place to start a business, grow a business, or get a job. Receiving support from the Indiana NFIB confirms Mike's plans are on track to make Indiana the state that works for all Hoosiers."
