WASHINGTON, Aug. 1, 2014 /Standard Newswire/ -- U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued the following statement today in support of House Republican efforts to address the humanitarian crisis on our southern border.
"Unlike the Democrat Senate, House Republicans are determined to work together to find commonsense solutions to address the humanitarian crisis on our southern border. Later today our Conference, through collaboration and robust debate, will unveil legislation that will strengthen border security and provide for an orderly, lawful, and compassionate way to deal with the influx of unaccompanied minors arriving in our country. Importantly, our legislation will provide funding to states for National Guard troops, block the President’s unauthorized Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) memorandum, and reform the 2008 human trafficking law to ensure children and families are reunited in their home countries. I am proud of our Conference's continued efforts on this issue and look forward to voting on this legislation later today."
