BEDFORD, Texas, , Oct. 21, 2024 /Standard Newswire/ -- KiDs Beach Club® (KBC) Founder and CEO Jack Terrell was awarded the Unsung Hero Award by East Texas Baptist University (ETBU).

The Unsung Hero Award is given to former students who have served faithfully, yet inconspicuously, in their family, church, community or field of service, and whose selfless contribution in their sphere of influence has yet to be recognized.

Terrell attended ETBU from 1988 until 1991, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduation, he served on staff as a children's minister for several large churches. In 2003, while on the staff of Cross City Church in Euless, Texas, Jack felt called to take the children's ministry beyond the walls of the church.

In 2003, he piloted Beach Club®, an after-school preteen Bible program focusing on instilling Biblical character into the children attending, while also connecting the kids and their families to the local church. With support and encouragement, Jack officially filed for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2005, and KiDs Beach Club® was launched in 2006 as an after-school Bible club designed to give every preteen boy and girl a "Jesus experience."

Since its inception, KBC has reached more than 125,000 children, equipped more than 27,000 adult volunteers, and distributed more than 77,000 KBC Study Bibles (provided at no cost to the children). Partner churches have recorded more than 10,100 professions of faith, all for the glory of God.

In 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and widespread school closures across the United States, the organization birthed KBC-Television®. KBC produced three seasons, 55 episodes of the show, earning 19 prestigious Telly Awards and multiple other industry awards and international accolades. Today, KBC-TV® content is available to millions of families across the U.S. and around the world, reaching more than 200 countries.
