Brownback, Brady to Host Media Availability Following Bipartisan Meeting with Select Reserve Bank Presidents

WASHINGTON May 5 /Standard Newswire/ -- U.S. Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) and Representative Kevin Brady (R-TX), along with several other Members of Congress, today will host a bipartisan meeting with four Reserve Bank presidents to discuss the pending financial regulation legislation.

The presidents, who head regional reserve banks other than New York, are here to meet with Members of Congress to discuss the financial reform legislation currently before the Senate.  That legislation will take some authority away from regional banks and further centralize power in New York and Washington.  This will have a significant impact on less urban economies and will diminish specific geographic and industry representation.

The meeting is closed to the media, however, Brownback and Brady will host a media availability immediately following the meeting.
