ENUMCLAW, Wash., Jan. 19, 2021 /Standard Newswire/ -- Only 50 percent of Protestant men say they feel a sense of well-being and peace once a week—according to a 2014 Pew Research Center study, many struggle with depression, inadequacy, fear, and deep-rooted hurt.* But a new release from Redemption Press offers help.
The Freedom Challenge for Men: 60 Days to Untie the Cords that Bind You highlights eight areas of spiritual struggle unique to men—and helps readers to rise above them and find emotional healing.
Author Paul Damon had struggled for decades with destructive behaviors and believing lies that prevented him from living out God's purpose and calling on his life. But as he learned more about God's desire for him, he says: "I couldn't continue to believe the lies of the enemy and live out my purpose!" Something had to change. He began taking life-altering steps toward emotional and spiritual freedom, but it was his wife, Dawn, who helped him understand and step into his true identity in Christ.
After Paul read Dawn's manuscript for The Freedom Challenge (published in 2019), he was convinced he needed her book—as well as every other man struggling with brokenness and defeat. So together they crafted a version for men that addresses eight areas of spiritual struggle—cords that strangle life and vitality from a man's soul, like deceptive self-talk, fear, depression, toxic mindsets, and debilitating lies, among others.
The Freedom Challenge for Men is a sixty-day Bible study designed to help men shift their mindset and find freedom and emotional healing from destructive thought and behavior patterns. Through a daily intentional and interactive process of putting God's Word into practice combined with challenging questions and guided confessions and prayers, readers will learn how to destroy strongholds and live free of past hurts and destructive emotions.
