HOLLYWOOD, Calif., April 4, 2025 /Christian Newswire/ -- Hollywood actress and television host Verna Linzey may be smiling down from heaven. Her show, "The Word with Dr. Verna Hall Linzey," is again being broadcast on God’s Learning Channel—a network founded by the legendary Tommie and Al Cooper. The series airs Wednesday mornings from 12:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Viewers globally can tune in via live streaming on God’s Learning Channel’s platform, or through satellite television in selected areas, as well as on YouTube, Rumble, Twitter, and Facebook. We invite you to watch, follow, and subscribe.
Verna Linzey, no stranger to the limelight or television, first graced God’s Learning Channel on October 31, 2004. Her debut on "Light of the Southwest" during the network's annual "Tel-a-thon" was unforgettable. She preached on the classic Pentecostal doctrine of 'The Baptism with the Holy Spirit,' captivating viewers and causing a flood of calls that shook the studio. After her segment, two Teen Challenge volunteers sought a personal prayer from her to receive the Holy Spirit’s baptism.
The request was passed to the renowned evangelist through Tommie Cooper, who had conducted the interview. When asked if she would pray for them, Linzey agreed without hesitation. In the foyer of the network headquarters, surrounded by the Coopers, her son Army Chaplain (Major) Jim Linzey (now retired), and the volunteers, she prayed. As she laid hands on them, each, in turn, began speaking in tongues for the first time.
The broadcast is further enriched with special music by Grammy Award nominee and Dove Award recipient, the Triumphant Quartet. Verna Linzey’s books, CDs, and videos are available for purchase online, including on Amazon.
