LA MIRADA, Calif., Sept. 15, 2021 /Standard Newswire/ -- Biola University's Bardwell Hall has been newly renovated into a brand-new, state-of-the-art creative space for the Department of Art. Featuring individual studio spaces and outdoor exhibition areas to computer labs and galleries, there is no shortage of ways for students to engage with Biola's vibrant art community. Biola will dedicate Bardwell Hall as the new home of the Department of Art and kick off a yearlong Celebration of Arts and Media on September 17 at 9:30 a.m.

The reimagined Bardwell Hall features a 1,100-square-foot student gallery, 40 individual student studio spaces, an outdoor art yard and exhibition space, a rooftop terrace, five large studio spaces for painting, drawing, photo lighting and documentation, eight faculty/studio offices, two computer labs, a photo darkroom/lightroom and critique spaces.

Biola is proclaiming its commitment to teaching and displaying art through the building dedication. The dedication also signifies the kick off of Biola's School of Fine Arts and Communication's year-long Celebration of Arts and Media. Throughout the year, there will be on-campus and online events — including concerts, symposiums, gallery openings and more. The celebration aims to present, support and advance the Kingdom work of artists, musicians, rhetoricians, and storytellers of Biola University and beyond.

The Department of Art offers studies in a range of disciplines, with various degree offerings — including a NASAD-accredited B.F.A. program. There are nine different concentrations, including animation, illustration, sculpture and photography.
