ROCKVILLE, Md., May 12, 2016 /Standard Newswire/ -- HM King Mohammed VI, on an official visit to China, held talks on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing with President XI Jinping.
During the talks, the sovereign announced to the Chinese head of State the waiving, as of June 1, 2016, of visa for Chinese nationals.
The decision, which confirms the vision of the king and his will to deepen and diversify the Chinese-Moroccan relations, shows Morocco's desire for openness and strengthening human, cultural, economic and political exchanges between the two friendly countries.
The talks between two leaders were followed by the signing of the joint declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as 15 bilateral agreements relating to the legal, economic, financial, industrial, cultural, tourism, energy, infrastructure and consular fields.
This strategic partnership will be a milestone for the development of the bilateral ties and bring new opportunities for bilateral cooperation in all areas. It also reflects Morocco's willingness to be an important cooperative partner of China in Africa and among the Arab states.
After India, Russia, the kingdom has set sail for China. Rabat, New Delhi, Beijing and Moscow, in fact, share the same strategic vision, even if each is powered by its own political and economic calculations. This is already a great achievement for a country of its size and resources, as Morocco searches for a place and a role on the international stage.
