RICHMOND, Va., June 7, 2018 /Standard Newswire/ -- Retired General Jerry Boykin will speak at a voter rally for E.W. Jackson's US Senate campaign. The rally will take place Saturday, June 9 from 2 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. at the Downtown Richmond Hilton, 501 E. Broad St. in Richmond.

The campaign is calling the event "Victorious Faith Get-Out-The-Vote Rally" in keeping with Jackson's outreach to Pastors and churches. Rev. Rafael Cruz, Father of Senator Ted Cruz campaigned for E.W. Jackson earlier in the week concluding his swing with a sermon at Rock Church in Virginia Beach, one of the largest churches in Hampton Roads. Says Jackson, "I have said repeatedly that the deterioration of our culture is in large part the consequence of churches and Christians not voicing and voting their values. All too often, we haven't voted at all. When we begin to engage the culture and the political process, we'll begin to restore the rightful place of Christianity in the culture and we'll see a resurgence of the values which built this nation. My campaign represents hunger for the restoration of those values."

Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William G. "Jerry" Boykin, is himself a minister. Gen. Boykin was a founding member of Delta Force special ops and served as a special operator for decades. He was twice wounded in combat. He also served as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence from 2003 until his retirement in 2007. He now serves as Executive Vice President of the Family Research Council. The General endorsed E.W. Jackson early in the campaign, saying, "Virginia could not be better served than to have E.W. Jackson as US Senator."

Jackson says that Virginia is the main source of these values. "Our Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights," Jackson says, "were all authored by Virginians, Godly men who were as inspired as they were brilliant. It is time for Virginia to lead again, and it is time to make Virginia Great again."
