Bill O'Reilly Makes Tiller Household Name - Schenck to Lead Vigil at Notorious Abortuary

Contact: Dane Rose, Program Director, Faith and Action, 202-546-8329 ext. 106., 703-447-1072 cell

WASHINGTON, July 13 /Standard Newswire/ -- Hugely popular radio and television commentator Bill O'Reilly of Fox News has done several exposes of infamous third-trimester abortionist George Tiller of Wichita, Kansas. Tiller operates one of the largest abortion businesses specializing in terminating fully viable babies nearing their due dates.

The Reverend Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), founder of Faith and Action in Washington, DC, and president of the National Clergy Council, will travel to Wichita tomorrow to lead a candlelight prayer vigil near Tiller's abortion business at 5107 E. Kellogg, Wichita. Other national leaders scheduled to participate in weekend events include the Reverend Troy Newman of Operation Rescue, the Reverend Patrick J. Mahoney of Christian Defense Coalition,  Norma McCorvey, the former "Jane Roe" of Roe v. Wade, and Wendy Wright of Concerned Women of America.

Mr. Schenck was a member of a recent delegation that visited Sudan's Darfur region and will make remarks at the vigil comparing what he learned in Darfur with what happens in Wichita.

"Once people fully understand these late term abortion businesses, they quickly see this as America's Darfur, America's own holocaust," said Schenck. "In fact, I'll show that America's abortion tragedy is in many ways worse than what's happening in Darfur."

Schenck continued, "All human suffering is tragic, but when you understand these are babies who will cry at birth, who are fully formed and ready to be born, it's so much more tragic. What Tiller does is a national shame. Now he's flouting the law against partial-birth abortions and law enforcement turns the other way. The Tiller story just keeps getting more and more reprehensible."

The June 14 vigil is free and open to the public. Organizers urge everyone to come. Churches and other groups are welcome to participate.
