STEARNS, Ky., May 5, 2023 /Standard Newswire/ -- A new book, to be released this weekend, recounts the fascinating story of Rick and Jane McKinney's 2770-mile walk across America. In January 2006, the couple took their first steps from the Santa Monica Pier and over the next six months, took in excess of 5 million steps each, landing them at the Supreme Court steps on July 4.
Their journey to pray for America and share their faith with others allowed them to encounter hundreds of people. Some needed encouragement, some a meal, and others just needed a hug and a prayer. The impact on many lives has been long-lasting, including some who have since begun their own ministries.
However, Rick McKinney says, "The greatest impact was on our own lives. We were changed with every step and every stop. Seeing others through the eyes of Jesus transformed our hearts."
The book entitled "And...So We Walked" will be released this weekend on Amazon as both an eBook and a paperback. Filled with stories that will take the reader from laughter to tears, the book gives an intimate look into the joy, pain, challenges and victories of the Walk to Reclaim America.
Rick and Jane McKinney have lived an extraordinary life of ministry. Once described as "mavericks," they have literally stepped out into the unknown to embrace God's call and have experienced His presence in a way that only comes through a life of obedience. Whether planting and pastoring churches, traveling the world to perform concerts, building a house in Mexico, traveling from village to village in India, or walking across America, they have followed His voice as He led them forward, one step at a time.
