FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, May 14 /Standard Newswire/ -- From Miss California, Carrie Prejean, who was vilified for defending marriage, to the harassment of Christians in the Golden State, the May 17 Coral Ridge Hour reports on growing hostility toward advocates of traditional marriage and how a "hate crime" law will only inspire more abuse by homosexual activists.
On the Coral Ridge Ministries broadcast, Robert Knight, Washington, D.C., correspondent for the Christian media outreach, cautioned that should Congress pass a "hate crime" law, "homosexual activists will be emboldened to recast any public expression of traditional morality as a form of 'hatred' people need to take action against."
Dr. Gary Cass, president of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission, joins Knight on the Sunday program.
In California, where voters last fall passed "Proposition 8," a constitutional ballot initiative that defines marriage as the union of a man and a woman, "there have been many, many incidents of not only vandalism to churches, but also physical attacks against Christians," Dr. Cass notes on the program. "Cars with 'Yes on 8' stickers were vandalized, their tires punctured, their windshields broken . . . and an elderly couple with a 'Yes on 8' sign in their front yard was physically assaulted . . . [the woman] actually punched in the face."
"Can you imagine what these people would endure if there were 'hate crime' laws at the federal level?" Knight asks on the broadcast.
Dr. Cass' eye-opening book, Christian Bashing, is offered on the broadcast with a letter to President Obama viewers can sign appealing to him "to ensure that people embracing the traditional Christian faith are not wrongly discriminated against, their freedoms restricted or eradicated."
"The War Against Christianity," a sermon preached by Dr. D. James Kennedy, precedes the Sunday television feature. Visit The Coral Ridge Hour station log for TV station listings and times.
