ATLANTA, June 20, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — The following is submitted by Dr. Alveda King, she is available for comment:
Hello dear friends. Several weeks have now passed – turning into months – since I accepted a special appointment in the Trump Administration as Senior Advisor to the United States Department of Agriculture Faith Center under the authority of Secretary Brooke Rollins. What an honor and a joy.

I have also been appointed to the Religious Liberty Commission as an advisor. Another joy, honor and blessing.

Many people know that by the grace of God, I am a Christian evangelist, ordained minister, hold a PhD in theology and leadership, former state legislator, former professor, and am a news and media film and music personality. However, many people do not know that in his early years, my grandfather Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Sr. was a farmer, raised by sharecropper parents. So, farming is in my blood.
All my life I've had a love for the land and for what I once called gardening until I became an official USDA farmer. I often sit on the deck on our homestead farm; and I listen to the water in the pond, the birds and animals all around me. We pollinate butterflies in honor of my mother Dr. Naomi Ruth Barber King. There are also hummingbirds and the like, as even the bees buzz in the midst of the distant echoing of traffic on the busy roads of the city.
As one who holds farmland in Georgia and Alabama, I’m a resource farmer now. As an advocate for God for righteousness and justice, I write to you during a moment of reflection as I am studying accounts in the Old and the New Testament of how when God's people obey him, he supplies our every need. In the Old Testament and New Testament, we have the accounts of the multitudes being fed from the land and the sea, with sacks of grain, and fish and the loaves. When we pray and obey, God provides and blesses us.

I woke up to pray this morning, amid so many reports of violence, confusion, agitation, fear, anger, mental illness and war going on today. Whew. That’s a lot. However, I was in for a pleasant surprise.
As I began to reflect on the goodness of God, I turned on my phone. I was instantly flooded with prayers and encouragement from friends. We were turning to God’s throne on our phones.
I realized that when we pray and obey, God blesses us. So, I want to encourage everyone to resist fear, to refuse to fight against other human beings, to refuse to hate. God loves us and wants everyone to receive the blessing of the shed blood of Jesus Christ by the power of Holy Spirit, from the sovereignty of God our Heavenly Father.
As a reminder, let’s not be guilty of idolatry. With all the envy, strife and selfish ambition in what some are calling “statue wars,” be mindful that debates over building or destroying statues bring about dissension.
I write to you in a moment of reflection. As I study the Scriptures—both Old and New Testaments—I see a clear pattern: when God’s people obey Him, He provides for every need. In the Old Testament, a prophet feeds a hundred people with a sack of barley and grains. In the New Testament, we see the miraculous feeding of the multitudes with loaves and fishes when the people sit at the feet of Jesus in obedience.
Today, we see so much conflict—confusion, agitation, violence, war, mental illness, and hate. But as I reflect on God’s goodness, I am reminded that obedience brings peace and provision.
While available to all, not everyone will receive this gift, but many will. I am writing today to both the few and the many—encouraging you to believe and receive. Let us reach out with love. Let us repent sincerely and forgive quickly.
Look around you. Look beyond fear and terror. The goodness of God is among us. We are the “One Blood, One Human Race”. God does provide—and He will—when we hear and obey.
You are wanted. You are needed. You are loved.
Beloved, let us love one another.
