LOS ANGELES, March 28, 2022 /Standard Newswire/ -- All are invited to the 116th anniversary celebration of the Azusa Street Revival. The Azusafest celebration is one day, Saturday, April 9th, 9am - 4pm. The service will be held at Union Church of Los Angeles, 401 East 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013! Our speakers this year are Apostle Cathy Guerrero, Whittier, CA, Pastors Caleb & Erica Cooper, Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, Apostle Wilma Berry, Los Angeles, CA. We will have special music from psalmist Tara Hudson, Los Angeles, CA & Devonna Reyes, T. or C., New Mexico. Apostle Fred & Wilma Berry pioneers and caretakers of the Azusa Street Mission location, have been celebrating the "Azusafest" event for 16 years! Apostle Fred Berry graduated to heaven in November 2021!
The William J Seymour award was created to recognize leaders who carry that same spirit of humility and unity in the body of Christ! This year's posthumous winner of the WJ Seymour award is Dr. Robert E. Fisher of The Center for Spiritual Renewal. His desire to bring the body of Christ together to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Azusa Street Revival brought over 50,000 believers to Los Angeles in 2006 to cry out for revival in our generation and agree with the spirit of the Azusa Street Revival. Additionally, he helped to launch Apostles Fred & Wilma Berry into international ministry!
In 1906 the declaration was that the "Color line is washed away in the blood of Jesus" and a prophetic statement attributed to Pastor William Seymour was "God will give us a greater than Azusa Revival in 100 years." Prayer leaders from all over the State of California will converge on Azusa Street to pray for a greater Azusa Street Revival!!!
Our theme this year is "Revival...God's People Awakening" from Joel 2:25-29. It is time for the church to awaken & return to the simplistic messages of Jesus Saves, Jesus heals, Jesus baptizes in the Holy Ghost and Jesus Christ is Coming again!
Wilma Berry is carrying on the history of Azusa Street as an international representative through the Azusa Street Mission & Historical Society. The organization's mission is to carry the flame of Azusa Street to the next generation throughout the nations of the world. ASMHS founded in 2006 main purpose is to educate the public about the historical significance of the Azusa Street Revival and the global Pentecostal Movement's impact on society.
