MONTGOMERY, Ala., May 18 /Standard Newswire/ -- As Congress moves forward with an aggressive environmental agenda in part focused on heavily subsidizing the renewable energy industry, the Partnership for Affordable Clean Energy (PACE) will host a series of panel discussions this Wednesday exploring the short- and long-term consequences of this policy. In particular, this diverse group of stakeholders and thought leaders will discuss whether national policies such as the renewable portfolio standard are geographically and economically fair to the southeast region of the United States. The panel will further discuss what recent developments on these fronts in Washington might mean for working families and businesses.
Dr. Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace and co-chair of the Coalition for Affordable Safe Energy, will address the audience and participate in a round table discussion with the media.

The Partnership for Affordable Clean Energy (PACE) is a coalition of working people, business owners, environmentalists, and trade organizations who are fighting for fair, responsible energy policies. PACE believes that the national conversation about the future of energy must include discussions about the cost of particular energy alternatives, not just their environmental benefits. In the end, it is America's working families and businesses that pay for the energy future we create today. That future must be affordable.
Headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, PACE has affiliates and supporters across the Southeast and beyond. The organization is a 501(c)(4) that educates the public about options for our energy future and advocates for sensible policies that balance environmental stewardship with economic reality.
