MALVERN, Penn., May 8, 2019 /Standard Newswire/ -- What is a BFF? How do you find one? And – What does it mean to BE one? These are just some of the topics this Young Women of Grace retreat will discuss with Catholic teens on July 13 at the Malvern Retreat House in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
Let's face it. For today's teens, nothing is more important than their friends and the friends our daughters choose have a great influence on her moral values, beliefs, and behaviors.
Hosted by Young Women of Grace®, and entitled, Dare to Prepare for True Friendship, this day-long retreat will give girls ages 13+ valuable tools on how to select good friends, navigate the tricky world of teen friendship, find out what it takes to be a good friend to others, and discover the Perfect Model of friendship – the Blessed Mother. Through Mary's life, they will learn why a few good friends is better than a lot of unreliable ones and why being a good friend often means carrying the cross.
Facilitated by Mary Dillenback, co-developer of the Young Women of Grace Training Manual, this day also includes an outdoor trail walk, games and crafts as well as prayer time. It is certain to be an uplifting, positive experience for your daughter.
Guest speakers include Johnnette Williams, founder of Women of Grace®; author, Dr. Carrie Gress; and Father Nathan Cromly who has two decades of experience in youth ministry and outreach.
"This is a fun-filled day designed to help girls learn how to find, and keep, really good friends who they can rely upon through thick and thin," says Susan Brinkmann, OCDS, co-author of Young Women of Grace Study.
"But before they can find good friends, they need to find themselves and discover what it means to be a daughter of God. This retreat delves into the glories of the feminine genius in a language designed to build up teens and get them ready to 'save the peace of the world' for themselves and those who will walk with them through life."
Eighteen-year-old Alicia Winters, who participated last year, is convinced that "If every middle school, high school, and youth group participated in this program, I have no doubt that our world would not be as broken as it is today. The Young Women of Grace program is so powerful, and the Holy Spirit has His hands all over it."
