CASTLE PINES, Colo., June 2, 2020 /Standard Newswire/ -- An on-line flip page digital E-book book.
Roger Himes is a Colorado lawyer, life coach, composer, singer, guitarist. His family also owns an operates a wedding venue in Evergreen, Colorado. Roger is the author, composer and singer. The song lyrics are printed in the book, but can also be listened to.
THE BRIEF STORY:
Scott is a Lawyer by profession, but a Singer by preference.
Dateline 2000: burned out being a big city lawyer in Denver, Scott and his family move to the town of Wildwood, where he follows his boyhood dream of becoming a composer/singer.
Many of us reach a type of mid-life crisis and a time of soul-searching. We want positive change in our lives where we want to count for something and to have a greater purpose. This was where Scott found himself after spending years as an attorney practicing litigation law.
Even though reluctant because they were secure in their lives, his wife Sharon and their children (Megan, Julie and Garvin) also move to Wildwood. Things go well, and Sharon is pleased with the positive change she sees in her family.
But then Scott meets Christy, a single woman as he sings in a nightclub. Attracted to her, he betrays his family by having an affair. The story resolves positively with a renewal marriage ceremony for the Baileys. Sharon and Christy even meet and discuss their anger, hurt, adversity and regret.
The story brings hope to families in such situations, and deals with talking things out, giving forgiveness and receiving healing. It provides a positive, moral model to follow in the book's various relationships.
ALSO FOR YOUNG READERS:
Scott's teenage daughter Megan is very important to the story. She is very outspoken with her dad, who has hurt her, and has betrayed their family by having an affair with Christy. She speaks to his hypocrisy: he does this while urging her to remain chaste as a virgin. It speaks to connection between people, even those of different generations.
Lyrics to a song by Peter Paul and Mary
put this in perspective:
"Music speaks louder than words.
It's the only thing the whole world listens to.
When you sing, people understand."
