ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 31, 2020 /Standard Newswire/ -- The centennial celebration of the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW) is underway, as registration opens February 3rd for the 2020 Convention to be held in the Washington, D.C. area—where it all began! Catholic women of all ages are invited to discover NCCW's rich history and its vision for the future through inspiring conferences, daily liturgies, informative exhibits and fun events. Together with women from around the country, attendees will deepen their faith, grow as leaders and as sisters in Christ, and discover new ways to serve the needs of society both today and in the future.
"Convention is an exceptional opportunity to learn, pray, and celebrate the unique gifts of women as we look to the future, transforming the world through fulfilling our mission," said NCCW President Jean Kelly.
The beautiful convention hotel, Crystal Gateway Marriott, is ideally located minutes away from Reagan National Airport and a short metro ride to downtown Washington D.C., the Arlington Cemetery, Pentagon City, and Old Town Alexandria.
Speakers at the 2020 Convention include:
- His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, who will give the keynote address and celebrate the opening Mass on Thursday August 27th.
- Abby Johnson, internationally known pro-life activist, who will receive the 2020 NCCW Lifetime Achievement Award and will speak at the AWARDs Breakfast Friday, August 28, 2020.
- Gloria Purvis, the creator and host of the popular EWTN TV series, "Authentically Free at Last," who will speak on Saturday, August 29, 2020.
In addition to touring the famous monuments and memorials of Washington DC, convention attendees will have the opportunity to experience The Jersey Tenors™, an Opera/Rock mash-up sensation and to attend the NCCW Centennial Mass in the Great Upper Church at the Basilica on Wednesday, August 26th at 12:30 pm.
