IRD President Mark Tooley commented:
"In a divided America Martin Luther King, Jr.'s message of Christian social hope and redemption is much, much needed. MLK is rightly remembered as a critic of American's racial sins. He should also be remembered as an American Exceptionalist who loved America's promise of freedom for all and vigorously asserted this promise for the nation and the world."
