Brandi Swindell, Founder and CEO of Stanton Public Policy Center; comments;
- "We are privileged to be gathering on the grounds of the United States Capitol Building on 'Women's Equality Day,' to honor the 100th Anniversary of women securing the right to vote. We are in awe of our bold and courageous sisters who heroically and courageously fought to ensure all women would be treated with dignity and respect.
"We wear these purple sashes to stand in solidarity with the suffragists who also wore purple sashes as an outward sign of their commitment to equality. Standing here on this historic 100th Anniversary of universal voting rights, we purpose in our hearts never to be silent until there is equality for all.
"That is why on one side of the sashes, we have printed, #EqualRightsForPrebornWomen It is a reminder that the journey for women's equality and justice still continues today as we work to end abortion violence to ensure a future for generations of women to come."
