WASHINGTON, Feb. 7, 2014 /Standard Newswire/ -- The largely underreported assaults on the religious freedoms of Christians around the globe will be the topic of a congressional hearing Tuesday chaired by U.S. Rep. Chris Smith (NJ-04), Chairman of the House congressional panel that oversees global human rights issues.
"The Persecution of Christians as a Worldwide Phenomenon" is the title of a hearing set to be held before the House subcommittee on global human rights. Witnesses will focus on the plight of impacted Christian communities and the need to protect religious freedoms and civil rights.
