LOS ANGELES, March 10, 2020 /Standard Newswire/ -- Global Outreach Day International president, Werner Nachtigal, prayed and encouraged leaders representing 40 million Christians in North America at the annual Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches of North America (PCCNA) meeting in late February. Nachtigal was part of a team with GO 2020 USA director, Dave Gibson, and Assemblies of God USA evangelist, Joe Oden, that ministered at the annual meeting. GO 2020 Miracle in May was the meeting theme with sessions on evangelism and prayer.
"I believe that we are living in the most opportune days of the gospel in the history of the church," said Dave Gibson, GO 2020 USA director. "Go2020 is a catalyst to awaken the sleeping giant, the church. It is simple, biblical, and critical for our time. We believe everyone can reach someone. Who’s someone in your neighborhood, workplace, school? Everyone can reach someone, and together, we can reach the world."
Oden announced that the Assemblies of God USA has launched a campaign as part for GO 2020 (Global Outreach Day). "Next May we're praying and believing we can mobilize 10 million people in the USA to reach 100 million for Christ," he said. "Fifty districts have appointed evangelism coordinators to help get the vision of evangelism to local pastors. We're asking pastors to do something simple such as announce it." Assemblies of God USA has created a website at ag.org/go2020 with resources for equipping Christians to evangelize. "Let's believe for one of the greatest harvests we've seen in the history of the church," said Oden.
The year 2020 is the capstone of the PCCNA's three-year, "Miracle in May" campaign launched in 2018 with a Year of Prayer, a Year of Caring in 2019, and now a Year of Sharing. The "Miracle in May" campaign was launched in the 2017 annual meeting in Charleston, S.C. Other PCCNA members including the Church of God, Church of God of Prophecy, and International Pentecostal Holiness Church have devoted online resources to promoting and equipping members for evangelism and outreach on Global Outreach Day. The PCCNA meeting is the fourth meeting emphasizing GO 2020 USA. Meetings have been held in Orlando, Los Angeles, and Kansas City.
