MEDIA ADVISORY, May 5 /Standard Newswire/ -- Jobs cut. Factories closing. Companies and governments in financial crisis. How should the church respond to such far-reaching uncertainties? There are no easy answers to these issues, but World Gospel Mission invites your comments and dialog at the Unsolved Ministries blog.
"This is when the church and all believers must decide how we will respond to this global financial crisis," says Vice President of Communication Tim Rickel. "As a church body, we don't often think about how money, wealth, and poverty impact missions."
Polls and statistics conflict regarding increasing church attendance in the United States since the stock market crash, but evangelical churches have shown growth.
"Evangelical emphases like a personal relationship with Christ and the promise of a life to come offer real hope to struggling people." says Rickel, "I think this shows that people can be more willing to offer their hearts to God when they have nothing of their own to offer Him."
World Gospel Mission is seeking input regarding the issue of socioeconomics and missions through the Unsolved Ministries blog.
