ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., July 8, 2011 /Standard Newswire/ -- Operation Rescue has obtained a series of 911 calls placed from Southwestern Women's Options (SWO) over a recent 15-month time span, which reveal a disturbing pattern of life-threatening abortion complications that routinely endanger the lives and health of women.
The first released 911 recording was placed on February 10, 2010. It indicates that SWO had just completed a second-trimester abortion on a 17-year old girl who suffered from a fever, a possible sign of infection, a rapid pulse, and uncontrolled bleeding.
"She just had the second tri procedure and she has a fever that's spiking right now and then her pulse is up to 172 with some bleeding that they can't get under control," a SWO employee told the 911 dispatcher.
The call originated at 11:04 PM. The SWO employee told the dispatcher, "It looks like we're closed, but we are in the office."
"Secrecy is the order of the day at abortion clinics like this across the country. We seek to expose the truth about what goes on behind closed doors, under cover of darkness at these abortion mills so that women will be warned and the public will see that it is time for the grisly practice of abortion to end," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "Recordings like this help us see the reality behind the abortionist's empty rhetoric."
Complications mentioned on other 911 recordings included uncontrolled uterine bleeding, an incident of "heavy hemorrhaging", and a uterine rupture. All patients required emergency transport to local hospitals.
Former Kansas late-term abortionists Shelley Sella and Susan Robinson are employees of SWO, which is owned by Texas abortionist Curtis Boyd. It is believed that either Sella or Robinson was involved in the botched abortions on women ranging in age from 17 to 30.
"When Sella and Robinson worked at a now-closed late-term abortion mill in Wichita, we documented numerous botched abortions that landed women in the hospital. We predicted when they relocated to New Mexico, where there are few, if any safety rules, more women would suffer tragedy. That prediction has now come true," said Newman.
"We have filed complaints against the abortionists at this clinic, Curtis Boyd, Susan Robinson and Shelley Sella, and have turned over the emergency transcripts for them to investigate. These abortionists present an obvious danger to the public and need to be held accountable for the injuries they are inflicting on unsuspecting women."
