NEW YORK, Dec. 18 /Standard Newswire/ -- John A. McGuckin, an early church history expert who is often called on by the media to discuss the historical roots of contemporary religious issues, is available to speak about the background of St. Nicholas and how he has evolved from an icon of social justice to the patron saint of extravagance.
Dr. McGuckin is The Ane Marie and Bent Emil Nielsen Professor of Late Antique and Byzantine Christian History at Union Theological Seminary and also a professor of Byzantine Christian Studies in the Columbia University Religion Department.
