WASHINGTON, May 17, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- After the Obama Administration issued a "guidance" letter directing all public schools to allow transgender access to restrooms, Chairman of the Constitution Subcommittee issued the following statement:  

"The privacy, safety, and wellbeing of our sons and daughters have been laid upon the altar of political correctness by this administration. Fueled by his unmatched hubris, President Obama has taken students hostage, especially in struggling school districts, for the manufactured rights of a select minority of the population. He has forced schools into an unjust conundrum where they must either ignore the emotional and physical safety and security of their students, or lose federal funding for economically disadvantaged children in their schools.

"This President has yet again jettisoned common sense, ignored the helpless, circumvented the rule of law, abrogated the checks and balances our nation was founded upon, and insisted that what should be left up to States and decided by the people, be forced upon us all by his decree. Congress will spend the next generation or longer cleaning up after the arrogant, leftist overreach and Constitutional destruction by President Barack Obama."
