LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 /Standard Newswire/ -- Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Founder and President of BOND, the Brotherhood Organization of A New Destiny, has come out in support of this Saturday's "Restoring Honor" rally in Washington D.C., organized by Glenn Beck. The event will take place at the Lincoln Memorial where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous "I Have A Dream" speech 47 years ago. The rally is described as an event to honor U.S. troops and unite the American people. Al Sharpton, the NAACP, and the National Urban League are hosting a counter march and have severely maligned the event. The following is Rev. Peterson's statement regarding this matter:
"Al Sharpton is the modern day Bull Connor -- and he and his cohorts embody hate, not love. Instead of bashing this event, these so-called black 'leaders' should join the 100,000 Americans expected to attend this event promoting unity and the restoration of character and honor.
"The phony race hustlers who have hijacked and perverted Dr. King's Dream over the last four decades are a disgrace to his legacy and the real civil rights movement. Al Sharpton, the NAACP, and the National Urban League are the real racists. They are terrified of conservatives, especially whites -- who wish to promote and advance real peace and brotherhood in this nation.
"All Americans should support this event and any movement that promotes freedom, character, and uniting the races with Truth. This was Dr. King's Dream."
