This new website is an expansion of the campaign called, "Barack Obama: The Abortion President," which was launched last month by the Christian Defense Coalition in Washington, D.C.
The Christian Defense Coalition will be holding a news conference on Wednesday, August 20, at 11:00 A.M. to discuss this new website and plans for the Democratic National Convention.
The location of the news conference will be in front of Mr. Obama's Senate office in the Hart Senate Office building on the Constitution Ave. NE entrance side.
The Christian Defense Coalition is being joined in this campaign by Operation Rescue.
The news conference will also focus on Senator Obama's recent comments at Saddleback Church where he stated it is "above my pay grade" to know when human life and human rights begin. The Coalition will argue if Senator Obama has no idea when human life or rights begins he should immediately embrace a pro-life position since by his own admission personhood may begin at conception.
Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition comments, "If Senator Obama cannot answer the most basic question of when life and human rights begin, he has no business embracing a pro-choice position or for that matter speaking out on the issue of abortion at all. Since Senator Obama has no idea when life begins, he is ignorantly supporting a position that has killed over 50,000,000 innocent children. According to Senator Obama's own words, he cannot give any assurance to the American public that his pro-choice policies are not brutalizing and killing millions of lives.
"If elected, Senator Obama would become 'The Abortion President,' with the most extremist policies on abortion of any President in American history. The Christian Defense Coalition will be working diligently over the next several months to educate faith voters on Mr. Obama's extremist abortion views. This is not a candidate who is concerned about social justice, hope and equality. Rather, this is a candidate that will continue the violence and pain of abortion and refuse to end this tragic war against America's women and children."
Kaitlin Clare, Program Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, adds, "As a 23 year old woman of faith, I am appalled at the radical and troubling abortion politics of Senator Obama. The website will educate my generation on where Senator Obama stands on the issue of abortion.
"This is not a progressive view on abortion or one that affirms women. As most of this emerging generation is embracing a 'culture of life' and growing less comfortable with abortion, Senator Obama wants to take us back to a radical pro-abortion posture that is both archaic and disturbing.
"We also want to remind Senator Obama that although we may be more progressive than our parents on the environment, social justice and other cultural issues, we could never vote for a President that wants to expand and embrace abortion policies that diminish women and crush human rights."
