WASHINGTON, Nov. 10, 2011 /Standard Newswire/ -- Today, Larry Klayman, the founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch and a former federal prosecutor at the U.S. Department of Justice, issued the following statement:
"In the last week, scurrilous accusations have been hurled against presidential candidate Herman Cain, which if true would not only sink his campaign but totally destroy his reputation. In so doing, women have come forward, some of them “armed” with high power lawyers, such as Gloria Allred, who specialize in representing women in these circumstances. Gloria Allred is my friend and she is a good person. But in this instance, after watching her press conference, I am saddened that she has lost her objectivity and has made this regrettable affair into a political football. She says she has sworn declarations corroborating the story of her client, Sharon Bialek -- who says that Cain groped at her private parts -- but has thus far failed to produce them. Another woman who has revealed her identity, Karen Kraushaar, says similar things. Cain has clumsily denied these allegations.
"Its time that for all involved, for the good of the country and our body politic, not withstanding the serious issue of sexual harassment, that the air be cleared so the nation can focus on the dire straits it now finds itself in. We do not need another 'endless' Monica Lewinsky type scandal to distract the attention of 'We the People' at this crucial time.
"So I urge my friend Gloria to have her client 'put up or shut up,' as well as Herman Cain and the other identified accuser.
"They should all submit to polygraphs, that is lie detector tests, immediately, before a recognized and reputable polygraph examiner, and do so publicly!
"Its time to let the chips fall where they may, and move on........"
