CLEARWATER, Fla., July 6, 2023 /Standard Newswire/ -- What began in 2003 as an inspiration to affirm Catholic women in their dignity and vocation as daughters of God, helping them discover the beauty of authentic femininity™, Women of Grace® has grown into one of the largest Catholic women's ministries in the world today.
"Through the Holy Spirit's intervention, we held the first Women of Grace® conference in the Fall of 2003 and soon, thereafter, developed the Women of Grace® Foundational Study, 'Full of Grace: Women and the Abundant Life,'" said Women of Grace® Founder and President, Johnnette Benkovic Williams. "Since that time over 50,000 women have taken the study, and our mission to 'transform the world one woman at a time' is happening not only in the United States but places such as the British Isles, Asia, Africa, Central and South America, even in war-torn Ukraine."
"What we couldn't have known then is what we know now: the gender of woman, who woman is and who she is called to be, is under the most serious attack it has ever known, thus making our mission more important than ever before," Johnnette said.
The mission has kept pace by offering ongoing spiritual formation through a steady stream of programs on EWTN TV and Radio, a newly refreshed Foundational Study, establishment of a certification program in spiritual formation and Catholic Women's Leadership through the Benedicta Institute for Women, in-person and online conferences, retreats, book studies, informative blogs/podcasts, Mornings/Evenings of Grace, the Young Women of Grace® program for teen girls, and a large social media and digital outreach.
The ministry's flagship event, an annual retreat at the Malvern Retreat House in Malvern, Pennsylvania, will take place this year July 21-23 entitled, "Go Deeper: Healing the Wounds of the Heart," it will feature Johnnette along with Father Ken Geraci. "The Science of Weakness: A Journey in the Life and Teachings of St. Therese of Lisieux," Benedicta Enrichment Seminar conducted by Susan Brinkmann, OCDS, will precede the retreat on July 20-21. To celebrate their 20th Anniversary Women of Grace is hosting a Pilgrimage to Mexico City honoring their patroness, Our Lady of Guadalupe.
"My hope is that within one generation we will see an invigorated, revitalized understanding of woman and her unique call and mission in God's plan of salvation," Johnnette said. "It is to this end we work and labor and seek His will."
Johnnette is available for interviews.
