Georgia Right to Life Hosts Annual Memorial, Friday, Jan. 22

NORCROSS, Ga., Jan. 19, 2021 /Standard Newswire/ -- Pro-life supporters are expected to gather Friday at Liberty Plaza to take part in a memorial event remembering the more than 62 million innocent children killed by abortion since it was legalized in 1973.

Sponsored by Georgia Right to Life (GRTL), the event will feature pro-life activist Jennifer McCullough as the guest speaker.

Founder of Atlanta-based "Girls Like Us," McCullough focuses on helping women find healing after an abortion. She uses her own abortion story to raise awareness about the profound and detrimental effects of taking the life of a precious gift from God.

"The number of children who never had a chance at life in our country nearly equals the entire population of France," charged GRTL President Ricardo Davis. "No country that asks for God's blessing can continue to tolerate and brazenly support this holocaust."

While the number of abortions nationwide reportedly continues to decline, Georgia unfortunately is headed in the wrong direction. There were 30,656 abortions in the state in 2019, an increase of 2,112 over the previous year.

The number of black abortions is even worse. A total of 19,277 black babies lost their lives in 2019, an increase of 3,709 compared to 2018.

Overall, black females constitute about one third of all women in the state, but represent 63 percent of all abortions.

This year's event occurs during GRTL's 50th anniversary. "It's been an amazing journey," Davis said. "For the last half century, GRTL has never wavered from its mission of working on behalf of all innocent human life."

Over the years, GRTL has grown into an organization that refuses to compromise on the principle that we are all—regardless of race, gender, or manner of conception—created in the image of God and deserve respect and protection.

GRTL produces groundbreaking educational programs, spearheads pro-life legislation, works to protect the elderly and infirm, conducts effective advertising campaigns that help women dealing with an unplanned pregnancy find help that does not end in abortion and, promotes Personhood as the civil rights issue of the 21st century.

Georgia Right to Life promotes respect and effective legal protection for all innocent human life from earliest biological beginning through natural death. GRTL is one of a number of organizations that have adopted Personhood as the most effective pro-life strategy for the 21st century.
