WASHINGTON, April 17 /Standard Newswire/ -- NAB Show organizers have expanded online video program offerings to include daily coverage of the NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 18 - 23. The program will present four segments comprising a daily highlight video, feature stories hosted by on-air talent, a series of interviews with industry leaders and visionaries as well as footage captured by a variety of attendees at the show.
More than two hours of video content will be produced in high definition format. Highwinds Network Group, Inc., a content distribution provider and NAB Show partner, will deliver the video content to online audiences over its content delivery network. Digital Rapids will provide encoding services for the programming which will be available through the NAB Show Web site, www.nabshow.com.
"Our enhanced video initiative will help viewers, whether at the show or on the other side of the world, stay on top of the news and developments coming out of the NAB Show," said NAB Executive Vice President of Conventions and Business Operations Chris Brown.
"It's also a great opportunity for us to produce and distribute content using the technologies that are represented on the show floor."
Level 3 Communications' "Red Couch" will present a series of interviews live from the Las Vegas Convention Center and will play host to numerous interviews with industry leaders, award winners, celebrities and visionaries. Launched in 2007, the Level 3's Red Couch is an independent initiative to provide a platform for discussion on the effect of technology on everyday life from business and politics to media and entertainment.
Daily NAB Show video highlights will recap each day's main events, while feature stories will delve into key themes such as holography, 3D, mobile and other technologies on the show floor. Hosted by on-air talent, this segment will present the overall pulse and feel of the show and will include tours of the exhibit hall and reports from a Las Vegas taxi cab driver, job searchers at the NAB Career Fair and party goers at after-hours events.
The fourth element of the video initiative features five attendees with different perspectives on the show who will use small hand-held video cameras, provided by Flip Video, to record their NAB Show experiences. These video bloggers will give viewers a sneak peak into the unique experiences of a diverse group of attendees, including: an NAB Show speaker, an exhibitor, an international attendee from Nigeria, a show management staff member, and a staff assistant to NAB President and CEO David Rehr.
