FLEMINGTON, Nj., July 5 /Standard Newswire/ -- Recently, the organizers of the Revelation Generation Music Festival, an annual day-long event being held on September 1st, invited local ministries and community leaders from Hunterdon County to unite for the local youth. Almost 50 ministries and community organizations attended the luncheon at Razberry's Banquet and Conference Center in Frenchtown, NJ to hear about the concert's relevance to young people and how to get involved.
The luncheon gave local leaders an inside look at the needs of the youth and the importance of events like Revelation Generation. Several members of the grassroots marketing team spoke about the many problems teens face today and how much music has an affect on their lives. "Some kids have barriers up and don't want to hear anything spiritual but these bands get through to them," said Grass Roots team member Michael Lerch. "The youth look up to these bands because they show them life and hope." The event will feature a well-rounded line up to include many genres and crossover bands such as Newsboys, Norma Jean, Jars of Clay, Emery, MxPx, The Almost, Brian Littrell, and Nicole C. Mullen.
Attendees of the luncheon heard from youth members about how the community can continue the concert's mission after the event. "RevGen is only one day," said Jason DelaCruz, also part of the Grassroots team. "We need to reach out to kids locally and have youth pastors and the community step in and guide them on their journey." Other speakers asked the community to adopt RevGen as part of their church missionary groups and to volunteer. "Rev Gen is all about outreach and we are proud to be a part of the largest drug free event in Hunterdon County, for a third year in a row" said Glenn Duncan from Hunterdon Country Drug Awareness. Other speakers included Pastor Eddie Hatcher from Central Hunterdon Baptist Church, Flemington, NJ, Rev. Jack Redmond of Christ Church in Rockaway, NJ also representing Battle Cry Ministries, and Katie McIntyre and Sean Grom from the Grass Roots Team.
For the third year, Revelation Generation will be held at Revelation Farms in Frenchtown, NJ and will be the largest drug free event in Hunterdon County. Last year, nearly 800 members of the local community volunteered for the event, and already 400 volunteers have signed up for this year's festival.
