First Woman Editor of Oldest US Bioethics Journal Named: Barbara Golder - Physician, Attorney, Author, Bioethicist

Dr. Golder is the first female editor in the peer-reviewed publication's 86-year history.
She served five years as Treasurer of the Florida Medical Association and Medical-Legal Editor Journal of the Florida Medical Association. In addition to her many accomplishments as a physician and bioethicist, she is also an attorney, served on the National Advisory Council of the US Council of Catholic Bishops, and is the award-winning author of a mystery series featuring bioethical themes (The Lady Doc Murders), the most recent installment of which explored the issue of assisted suicide. She was lead author of an article on the ethics of feeding tube use for the Journal of the National Catholic Bioethics Center. Her interest in the ethics of end of life care dates back more than twenty-five years.
