OCP Parish Grants Program to Distribute $200,000 to US Parishes

NEWS PROVIDED BY
OCP
Oct. 22, 2020

PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 22, 2020 /Standard Newswire/ -- The 2020 OCP Parish Grant Program will award a total of $200,000 in grants to 109 parishes within the United States. Since 2001, the program has provided over $3.3 million in direct financial assistance to enhance the worship experience of Roman Catholic parishes. A full list of the 2020 OCP Parish Grant recipients is available at ocp.org/previous-recipients.

"Nearly 100 years ago, OCP was founded to serve and support the Catholic Church during difficult times," says OCP Publisher Wade Wisler. "Though the world has changed over the last century, our goal remains the same. We are honored to provide aid to U.S. Catholic parishes at this time, as they strive to support the weekly prayer and worship of their community amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic."

Parish Grant applications are open to Roman Catholic parishes located within the 50 US states that did not receive an OCP Parish Grant the previous year. Grants must be used toward the enhancement of the musical and/or liturgical experience of the assembly. Some common uses of grants include:

  • Improving multicultural ministries

  • Maintaining or replacing musical instruments and equipment

  • Maintaining or repairing parish facilities

  • Attending or hosting musical/liturgical conferences and workshops

  • Purchasing music and worship materials

  • Providing electronic resources in support of liturgy preparation

Janice D. of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish writes, "[P]lease accept our heartfelt gratitude for the OCP Parish Grant...to rebuild our choir's music library. Thank you for your support of our efforts to engage, unite and inspire."

Applications for 2021 may be submitted online in early 2021. All U.S. Catholic parishes are eligible to apply, even if they don't currently use an OCP worship program. For more information, please visit ocp.org/grants.
