WASHINGTON, April 1 /Standard Newswire/ -- The NAB Show has announced the participants in a Super Session titled "The Future of Broadcast News: Different Paths, Different Demands." The session, jointly produced by NAB and the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), takes place Monday, April 12 at the NAB Show in Las Vegas.
Panelists for the Super Session include Steve Grove, News and Politics, YouTube; Jerry Gumbert, president and CEO, Audience Research & Development LLC; Bob Horner, president, NBC News Channel; Paul McTear, president and CEO, Raycom Media and Harvey Nagler, vice president of News, CBS Radio. Russ Mitchell, Sunday edition anchor for "CBS Evening News" and correspondent for the network's Sunday Morning program, will moderate.
"Reaching broader audiences, particularly young people, requires broadcasters to rethink how news is produced and delivered," said Mitchell. "This session provides a great opportunity to hear from station executives and news professionals who are thinking outside the box to deliver high quality news products for consumption anytime, anywhere."
National and local broadcast news continues to inform and connect local communities in spite of slashed budgets and reduced staff, while new opportunities for repackaging and delivering the news have never been better. In the "Future of Broadcast News" a dynamic panel of leading broadcast news professionals and decision makers share their insights on maintaining the integrity of the station news product amidst a changing industry.
