LOVELAND, Colo., May 10 /Standard Newswire/ -- As reported by major news outlets following a late April press conference, a team of Chinese and Turkish explorers have discovered what they believe are the remains of Noah's Ark. Rooms in what appears to be a massive ancient vessel were uncovered at an altitude of 13,000 feet on Mount Ararat in Turkey. The announcement was made by the Hong Kong-based Noah's Ark Ministries International (NAMI).

Charles Sellier, CEO of Grizzly Adams® Productions and co-author of two books about Noah's Ark and the Flood, notes, "There have been several reported discoveries of the remains of the Ark over the years, but we're especially excited and hopeful about this most recent find. The location of the relic is consistent with where we expected to find any possible surviving artifacts as we described in our two books and seven Ark documentaries."

Yeung Wing-Cheung, spokesman for the NAMI research team, explains, "It's not 100 percent that it is Noah's Ark, but we think it is 99.9 percent (certain) that it is."

Author David Balsiger, a Grizzly Adams Productions senior producer, says, "We're cautiously optimistic. If these are indeed pieces of Noah's Ark, it has enormous historical, theological, and scientific implications."

Local Turkish officials will ask the central government in Ankara to apply for UNESCO World Heritage status, so the site can be protected while a major archaeological dig is conducted.

"For decades, we've been fascinated with the story of the Flood and the possibility that the Ark may still exist," explains Sellier. "Dave and I published The Incredible Discovery of Noah's Ark (Dell) in 1995." Balsiger and Sellier's second Ark-related book in 2008 is entitled Miraculous Messages: From Noah's Flood to the End Times (Bridge-Logos).

Grizzly Adams' recent Ark documentaries include: Miraculous Messages: From Noah's Flood to the End Times; The Longevity Secret: Noah's Ark the Key to Immortality?; The Quest for Noah's Ark; Noah's Ark: Fact or Fable?; Noah's Ark: Was There a Worldwide Flood?; Noah's Ark: What Happened to It?; and, Noah's Ark & The Biblical Flood: Was There a Flood and Has the Ark Been Found?

Sellier and Balsiger also released In Search of Noah's Ark in 1976, the first theatrical documentary based on their book of the same title and Balsiger's earlier book entitled Noah's Ark: I Touched It--the story of French explorer Fernand Navarra's Mt. Ararat wood discovery in the 1950's believed to be from Noah's Ark. Their 1976 theatrical film did $28 million at the box office which in today's ticket dollars would be $140 million.
