DALLAS, Nov. 24, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — The following is submitted by Pastor Stephen Broden of Fair Park Bible Fellowship Church:
The abortion battle has shifted. It’s no longer about confronting abortion clinics and baby-killing centers scattered across America; it’s now about private, isolated killings facilitated by the early-accessible abortion pill. Babies are being killed in the privacy of women’s homes, where women choose not to have their babies.
The pro-life movement has not made the necessary adjustments to halt this new phase. Old methods won’t be enough to counter the slick advertising and sophisticated marketing of easily accessible pills available at your local pharmacy.
How do we combat this insidious method of killing babies? The pill has expanded the practice, enabling it to reach more people and making it affordable for all socioeconomic groups.
Currently, few in the pro-life movement have raised awareness about the dangers of the pill, shared horror stories of devastating consequences, or found ways to shift the perception that abortion is now a secondary political issue.
What can we do?
In football, halftime is an opportunity to re-evaluate and adjust strategies. If the current approach isn’t yielding results, adjustments are made based on analyzing what the opponent is doing. Coaches review their opponent’s tactics and plan countermeasures to neutralize their plans.
The pro-life community needs a major overhaul. We are losing the fight. Our leaders must assess the situation and make necessary adjustments. What we’re doing now isn’t working.
We must adopt new methods to confront the destruction caused by the pill on women and babies. What is the science behind it? What are the side effects? Are there stories of things gone wrong? This information must be widely shared through social media, podcasts, and films to educate and inform.
The key is that we need to change our current strategies. Roe has lessened the urgency of the fight. Too many have become complacent, risking the sanctity of life and the safety of babies.
Just like coaches make halftime adjustments by evaluating what the other team does well and their weaknesses, we must also assess our own strengths and weaknesses. Some experienced pro-life advocates need to help recruit a new generation of fighters to carry on this fight.
Black pro-life leaders face unique challenges in this transition. Our community has borne the brunt of this crisis. The secretive nature of the pills impacts our women most. Black pro-lifers have fought with limited support from donors and constrained budgets, making it difficult to counteract the major funding backing those promoting black baby killing. It is crucial that we adjust now, or our women and children will continue to suffer losses and trauma if the spread of the pill remains unchecked.
We need to step into halftime with a clear understanding of what’s happening and how we can respond effectively. We must find ways to win even without support from the major white pro-life community, which often dismisses our struggles and refuses to provide significant aid. Our strategies must be deliberate and with unwavering focus. Our women and children are counting on us now more than ever.
