WASHINGTON, March 30, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — What we call miracles are events outside our ordinary understanding of time and space. They are events that John, the gospel writer calls signs and Jesus calls them works of the Father. The image of the man of the Shroud of Turin that is before us today is one of the most studied objects in history, the intersection between faith and science. Here, beside the front and back image of the man of the shroud is the three-dimensional sculpture of this shroud image. This image is a miracle, a supernatural event. It is the visual sign that confirms that human existence can continue beyond our world of time and space. Evidence for it is beyond all doubt. This work of God is real and here for us to understand. All we need are our eyes and our mind to comprehend it. Originally thought to be lying in burial as the blood marks indicate, new visual evidence shows that his body is not lying in burial but is raised up. See how his hair falls to his shoulders and his feet do not touch the ground. The back image with its rounded anatomical form and falling hair show that the man is upright. If he were laid out on his back, the back of his body would be flattened, and his hair would not be falling to his back and shoulders. The shroud with the image of the raised man is the witness of not only of the crucifixion and death, but of the resurrection and ascension of Jesus to the Father. God is visually communicating to humanity, in a moment in time, the Hour of Glory — the Easter Event!

What we see on the shroud, the rising body of Jesus, is exactly what will happen to all of us who believe in him. He who loved us to the end, will raise us up on the last day and personally bring us into his Father’s house where we shall live forever.

“This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in him may have eternal life; and I will raise them up on the last day” (John 6:40).

Endorsements for the book:
“No artifact — in all of history — has held people in thrall the way the Shroud of Turin has. It stakes a mighty claim; but, as Dr. Lavoie demonstrates, an overwhelming preponderance of evidence favors its claim. This book brings all that evidence together, with photos and abundant illustrations, subjecting it to close and dispassionate analysis. The author is always engaging. He never over-reaches. There is no more comprehensive book for those who are curious — or skeptical — about the Shroud.” – Scott Hahn, founder and president, St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology.

“Enlightened by the gifts of rational thinking and great knowledge of medicine, Dr. Lavoie will bring the reader into a medical classroom. With simple and accurate teachings of body physiology, anatomy, and forensic medicine, he will provide facts that will offer a totally new vision of the man behind the Shroud of Turin.” – Gianluca Toraldo, MD, PhD

“For those who hunger to know Jesus Christ, Dr. Lavoie’s recent study of the Shroud of Jesus is a must read and must have for your spiritual library. This work is the result of forty years of research and investigation, bringing the fruits of modern science into the quest of understanding the origin and meaning of this sacred relic…” – Rev. Francis Joseph Hoffman, JCD, CEO of Relevant Radio
