FARMINGTON, Mich., Sept. 18, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — SEND International is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Eckstein as its new International Director (ID) / CEO, marking only the fourth transition of this role in the organization’s 80-year history.
Jon brings over 25 years of service with SEND as a missionary, Area Director for East Asia, and Asia Regional Director. His leadership has been marked by innovation, fostering synergy, and a strong commitment to reaching the unreached.
In addition to his extensive ministry experience, Jon holds a B.A. in Intercultural Studies from Moody Bible Institute, an M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Crown College, and an MBA from National Taiwan University.
Jon and his wife, Beth, began their SEND journey in East Asia, serving among an unreached people group. Their pioneering work laid a foundation for growing communities of faith in the region. As Jon stepped into leadership, he championed collaborative strategies that strengthened SEND’s teams across Asia and beyond.
“My calling has always been to clear a path to the unreached,” Jon says. “Whether that’s through opening new fields, designing effective systems, or empowering teams, I see this as central to SEND’s mission.”
Jon’s appointment was officially confirmed through a global membership vote, receiving an overwhelming level of support from SEND members worldwide. This outcome reflects the organization’s strong unity and confidence in Jon’s leadership and vision.
His commissioning took place during SEND’s 80th Anniversary Gathering in July 2025, where members from around the world gathered in person and online to celebrate this historic event.
