NASHVILLE, Sept. 8, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — Chaplain (Major) James F. Linzey, USA (Ret.), author of ‘Creator of the Universe’—the U.S. Space Force Hymn—and the Official U.S. Army Cadet Command Prayer, as well as editor of ‘Manchuria to Midway’ by his late father, Stanford E. Linzey, Jr., a Battle of Midway survivor, has been nominated in the ‘Peacemakers’ category of the 2025 Red Letter Awards. This annual event celebrates Christian artists, authors, and influencers dedicated to promoting peace, faith, and excellence.
For more than three decades, Chaplain Linzey has served as a peacemaker and spiritual guide for thousands of military personnel, veterans, and families. As a trained Critical Incident Stress Debriefing asset through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, he provided one-on-one counseling and led group debriefing sessions after crises. His work empowers service members to reconcile inner conflict, process grief, and heal from the wounds of war, including PTSD.
Linzey’s military career spanned the five services, where he served in critical pastoral roles during Operation Iraqi Freedom II and Operation Noble Eagle II, bringing hope and care to troops at 12 installations. Following retirement, he continued ministry at MCAS Miramar’s Airman-Marine Memorial Chapel and as State Chaplain of California for major veterans’ associations.
Beyond the battlefield, Linzey’s influence extends into faith culture and the arts. As Chief Editor of the Modern English Version Bible and author of the Space Force Hymn, his legacy continues to inspire reflection across generations and branches of service.
“I’ve dedicated my life to helping warriors make peace within themselves and with others,” Linzey says. One of the sons of singer, songwriter, recording artist, and film actress Verna Hall Linzey and USS Yorktown survivor of the Battle of Midway, Captain Stanford E. Linzey, Jr., CHC, USN (Ret.), Linzey joins other distinguished nominees celebrating Christian excellence under the banner of peace and faith-led expression.
