WASHINGTON, Jan. 22, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — Stanton Public Policy Center calls upon America’s 356,000 churches to become publicly involved in ending the violence of abortion as well as supporting women facing unexpected pregnancies and working with post-abortive men and women.

Nationally, many churches and pastors are disengaged on the issue of abortion as these numbers below reflect:

• 26% of regular church goers under 50 said that they had paid for, encouraged, or chosen to have an abortion.

• When asked about their views regarding abortion and the value of life, 43 percent of regular churchgoers described themselves as pro-life, a dramatic decrease from 63 percent in 2023.

• Only 7% of women who had abortions said they directly spoke with someone in their church about their decision. 3 in 4 women (76%), said local churches had no influence on their decision regarding abortion.

• Half (51%) of women in the church don’t believe churches have a ministry prepared to discuss options during an unplanned pregnancy.

Stanton Healthcare is intimately involved with the local church in communities where Stanton has life-affirming medical clinics and pregnancy resource centers are located.

Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Chief Strategy Officer for Stanton Public Policy Center, comments:

“Theologian and philosopher Francis Schaffer stated: ‘Every abortion clinic should have a sign in front of it saying, Open by permission of the church of Jesus Christ.’ Sadly, many of America’s 356,000 churches remain silent on the issue of abortion.

“Stanton Public Policy Center understands that if America wants to make ‘abortion unthinkable’ pastors and local churches must engage on the issue of abortion. That is why every Stanton Healthcare medical clinic and pregnancy resource center is intimately involved with the local church community as we work together to end the violence of abortion.

“We take great hope as we partner with churches to make ‘abortion unthinkable.'”
