ARLINGTON, Va., April 6, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — Author Abenezer Mergia has released The Vine Kids: Rooted, Growing, Shining, a 14-day interactive devotional designed to help children ages 7-10 connect Scripture to the real challenges they face every day. The book is now available on Amazon.

Most children can retell familiar Bible stories. But when those same children face peer pressure at school or struggle with fear at bedtime, they often don’t know how God’s Word applies to what’s happening in front of them. Mergia wrote The Vine Kids to close that gap.

“I served in children’s ministry for years and kept seeing the same thing,” Mergia said. “Kids could tell me every detail about a Bible story, but when I asked what God’s Word says about standing up when they’re scared, I got silence.”

Each of the 14 chapters follows a child navigating a real-life situation, including peer pressure, dishonesty, loneliness, comparison, fear, and forgiveness. Through these stories, young readers discover how Scripture speaks directly to the problems they face today. Each chapter includes a relatable story, a memory verse, a simple explanation, a drawing prompt, discussion questions, and a Parent Insight Box that equips parents to guide their child’s faith.

The devotional works for family devotions, Sunday school, children’s ministry, homeschool Bible time, and bedtime reading.

“The world is already shaping your child’s beliefs,” Mergia said. “This devotional makes sure God’s Word gets there first.”
