MIDDLETOWN, Ohio, March 10, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — A new devotional by an Ohio-based family draws on travel experiences from all 50 states. The book invites reflection on faith through everyday moments from those journeys.
Titled From Sea to Shining Sea: 50 Daily Devotions from Traveling to Every State in America, the book was written by John Christopher Frame with his parents, Gene and Marsha Frame. It is based on Gene and Marsha’s travels to all 50 states over their lifetime together. Married for nearly 60 years, both grew up in Middletown, Ohio. After many years away, they returned to the area and now live near their hometown. Gene is a retired pastor, and Marsha is a retired teacher.
Drawing on real travel experiences Gene and Marsha had in each state, the book connects those moments with simple spiritual truths that encourage steady growth in everyday faith.
“My parents have seen so much of the country and have visited places many people don’t even know exist,” John Christopher Frame said. “Writing this book together was a meaningful way to share their unique experiences with others. The book is both fun to read and spiritually encouraging.”
Frame said writing the devotional with his parents was personally rewarding.
“I did a lot of research on the places they visited, and they sent me photos from their trips. That helped me picture those places more clearly and see some of what they’d seen. It felt a bit like traveling with them,” Frame said.
The book includes one short reading for each state, combining Scripture, prayer prompts, and reflective questions built around a distinct theme.
