SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras, Sept 15, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — During the Thirty-third International COICOM Encounter at the Copantl Hotel and Convention Center in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, the Board of Directors of COICOM announced a significant leadership transition.

At the conclusion of the three-day conference, Dr. Mynor A. Vargas, founding member of COICOM, was officially appointed Chairman of the Board of COICOM International. The announcement was made by Executive President Arnold Enns during a Board meeting and recorded by Secretary General Napoleón Ardaya in the official minutes.

The decision followed the resignation of Stan Jeter, cofounder of COICOM and long-serving Chairman, who stepped down due to health considerations and his age of more than 80 years.

Dr. Vargas, a central figure in COICOM’s growth and influence across Latin America for more than three decades, now assumes the continental leadership post with the responsibility of guiding the organization into its next chapter of service to the nations. “This is not only a high-level privilege, but also a great responsibility,” Dr. Vargas said in a phone interview.

The formal press release announcing his appointment is expected to be published across Latin American media outlets next week.
