CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., April 2, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — As the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 8-1 in Chiles v. Salazar on March 31, 2026 — striking down Colorado’s ban on so-called “conversion therapy” as unconstitutional viewpoint discrimination — a completed feature-length documentary has emerged to tell the full human story behind this landmark battle.

FREEDOM, produced by Fish Tales Production Company Inc., is the only faith-based feature-length documentary in the United States examining the criminalization of so-called “conversion therapy” from a perspective of religious liberty and truth. Three years in the making, the film traveled to Ireland, Singapore, Malta and across the United States conducting more than 40 interviews.

TWO HISTORIC VICTORIES — ONE DOCUMENTARY

In addition to Tuesday’s Supreme Court ruling, Matthew Grech of Malta — the first person ever criminally prosecuted under a conversion practices ban anywhere in the world — was fully acquitted on March 4, 2026. FREEDOM contains the only American documentary footage of Grech, his legal team, and the Malta courthouse. Both cases concluded with vindication for religious liberty, just as FREEDOM is released.

GOING DEEPER THAN THE HEADLINES

FREEDOM examines the accusations against so-called “conversion therapy” honestly, educates viewers on what counselors and pastoral ministers actually do, and gives voice to those who have left the LGBTQ world — not in harm, but in genuine healing and wholeness. Among the more than 20 interview subjects are Bethel Church pastors Ken Williams and Elizabeth Woning, co-founders of the CHANGED Movement, and pastor and media personality Lucas Miles.

THE FILMMAKER’S STORY

Executive Producer Wayne Blakely lived in the LGBTQ culture for forty years before being won back to Christ in 2009 through his parents’ faithful prayers. “Three years of filming have exposed a truth that a loud and insisting culture has worked hard to suppress,” said Blakely. “The people in this film were not harmed. They were helped. FREEDOM tells their story with honesty, compassion and respect.”

FREEDOM is now complete and actively seeking distribution. The only other feature-length documentary on this subject is Conversion (2024), which takes the opposing view and streams free on Prime Video, Apple TV and Tubi.
