LAKE PLACID, Fla., Nov. 18, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — On an Easter morning seven years ago, Margo Holmes sat surrounded by family, celebrating communion. A curious six-year-old granddaughter began asking questions about what it meant. Later, Margo Holmes, mother of six, grandmother of fifteen, and great grandmother of seven searched for good resources. Unable to find a children’s book that explained the gospel simply yet profoundly, Margo felt the Holy Spirit nudge her: Write one yourself.
Understanding Communion became the first in what has developed into a legacy of 124 children’s books (with more on the way / 40 published so far). Margo shares: “Each time I thought I was done, the Lord would wake me in the early morning hours, dropping a new title into my heart.”
Margo is now on an urgent mission to help parents and grandparents lay a foundation of biblical truth that empowers children to stand strong when they are bombarded with the world’s lies. Her books, starting with her nine-book series God’s Great Love, weave scripture into stories that teach basics of the Gospel.
Margo’s passion stems from her own story of redemption, detailed in her biography, Oh, the Wonder! Born into a home marred by abuse and neglect, she knew nothing of God until age seven, when someone invited her to Vacation Bible School. There, memorizing John 3:16, she recalls: “As I was repeating those words, my little heart grasped that Jesus died for me. I felt loved for the first time.”

Margo’s stories do more than teach—they inspire. She infuses each book with character traits like faithfulness, hope, and courage, aiming to spark a personal relationship with Jesus. She declares, “I want children to yearn to be like Him, to serve Him, and to live joyful, purpose-filled lives.”
Margo’s vision is catching fire in her family. Her three youngest granddaughters penned their own book, The Daily Lives and Prayers of June, Braelyn, and Bristol. Each chose five scriptures, pairing them with heartfelt prayers they wrote to show kids that God listens to simple, honest words.
Through her ministry, Margo is calling parents and families to action: “God’s Word and God’s love can transform lives. Share God’s love with your children one book at a time.”
